John Daniel & Partners LLP is a firm of certified public accountants, licensed to by Kenya’s ICPAK. The Firm has two partners, Daniel M. Chege and John W. Nguri. Although the firm started operating under the current name in 2021, the two partners have many years of experience between them as detailed in their profiles. We are currently serving clients in diverse sectors of the economy and following a growth plan that is inbuilt with quality and integrity.

We are dedicated to serve our clients with competence and integrity. We therefore take time in selecting members of our team, whether as staff or associates, to ensure that we have the best possible. We also invest in our people through intensive training and development programs to ensure they remain current in the ever-changing business environment.

PRACTITIONERS PROFILES

CPA Dan M. Chege. Managing Partner

Dan has over 20 years working experience in the public and private sectors in Kenya. Dan started his career in the banking industry in 1998 where he worked for 4 years, mainly in accounting and internal audit functions. He later joined the Kenya Revenue Authority’s internal audit and risk management department where he served for over 12 years. At KRA, he started as a Senior Auditor and rose to be an Assistant Commissioner in charge of quality management audits and later customs audits.

He led teams in undertaking audit projects in Customs, Income Taxes, VAT and general administration functions.  He resigned from KRA in 2013 to focus on audit and consulting and has undertaken various projects for private companies and non-governmental organizations, mainly in Kenya. He has also undertaken consulting work in Rwanda, Djibouti and the United Arab Emirates. Most of his work has been in audit, risk management and business process consulting using various management systems frameworks.

Dan obtained his Bachelor of Commerce (finance option) from University of Nairobi and later Master of Business Administration degree, specializing in finance from the same university and graduated in 2006. He has also undertaken many management and leadership courses in and outside Kenya, which have provided a lot of exposure in diverse fields in management and business generally. He qualified as a Certified Public Accountant in 2001. He also has a Diploma in Project Management from the University of Cambridge UK and has Prince2®Practitioner certification. He is also a quality management systems auditor, with lead certification in ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and ISO 45001 standards. Dan is passionate about life and pursuing excellence in all his endeavors

CPA John W. Nguri. Partner

John has over 25 years’ professional experience as a financial and economic consultant and prior to that about 15 years’ experience in corporate world, rising from management trainee to finance director position. John has consulted and managed large projects in both public and private sectors, financed by the USAID, EU, World Bank, IFAD, SNV, BTC and other donor agencies. He has experience in working in many countries in Africa including Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Eretria, Malawi, Zambia, South Africa, Botswana, and Sierra Leone. The projects John has led and participated in include technical assistance in Kenya; as municipal finance expert and finance management systems and operations expert; in Rwanda, as leader in district revenue and expenditure management services; as Team Leader for review and implementation of the financial management systems in statutory bodies in Kenya, among many others.

John has a Masters in Economics specializing in Public Finance and policy and a B. Com in accounting, and currently is a PhD student specializing in Finance. John is also a CPA with over 30 years post qualification experience. He has a wealth of experience in the application of accounting, auditing and financial reporting systems and software packages. In addition, he has good understanding of information systems and the application of new technology.
